The elevator was at a lower landing when the drivers foot slipped off the brake pedal
and onto the gas pedal. The doors were pushed into the hoistway but the
interlock remained closed. The car came up from below for a meal!

Jan Dumno informs me that, "This is REALLY missing in your new car-top section!!!!" He is correct!
This is an elevator in Vienna, Austria. As you can see it has only one suspension rope.
Jan says there are still many installations in Europe with only one suspension rope.
