Freight Elevator - Abandoned Building - Toronto, Canada

 Please Note 

1 - The colors have been enhanced by the photographer - to our advantage.
2 - The elevator has wooden rails.
3 - The floor cams attached to the wooden rail support are also made of wood.
4 - The counterweight is visible behind the "ladder" rail bracket.
5 - There are windows in the hoistway and they are in the worst possible place for firefighters - directly behind the counterweight runway.

Excellent picture Möv!

Please note that these two freight elevators have four guide rails per car.
There are also windows in the hoistway...no longer allowed in most jurisdictions.

would raise and lower this "inclined elevator" by way of a wooden "hamster wheel." (see below)
