This Schindler elevator was installed in 1968 in a hotel in the South of France
The town is called Agen...it is Jonathan's hometown
The rated load is 180 Kg (397 pounds) - a relatively small cabin (car) with 5 stops

The governor...looks like a friction type
Please note the contacts above the roller arm. The roller rides on the lobes of the
governor rope sheave and bounces higher as the car/governor speed increases.

Adjacent to the red flywheel is the low (slow) speed motor
the smaller diameter motor is the fast (high) speed motor

250 U/min = 250/RPM
This elevator has a 6:1 speed reduction
The rated speed is 0.63 m/s (124 FPM) so the
leveling speed would be about 0.11 m/s (21 FPM).
Please note the frequency is listed as 50 hz.
At 60 hz we might see a rated speed of 0.76 m/s (150 FPM)
with a leveling speed of 0.13 m/s (25 FPM)

'2.25.3.3.2 - Winding drum machine elevators shall have two sets of final terminal
stopping switches, one located on and operated by the driving machine, and the
other located in the hoistway and operated by cams attached to the car.'

It appears that the vertical bar is treaded and travels horizontally between the cam stops.
If the car travels past either terminal landing the cam stop will engage the bar and
turn the mechanism which will open contacts in series with the 'mainline circuit.'
